This early in there isn't much to report. I got the first of this pregnancy's picture. I saw a nutritionist today and she said a healthy weight gain for this pregnancy is 15-20 lbs. :( I'm in trouble! LOL
I'm also thinking I'm going to show sooner with this one than I did with Ellie (close to 5 months before I even STARTED getting the baby belly). I'm getting those oh-so-wonderful ligament pains letting me know my body's adjusting to my orange-seed-sized baby. My question is, How much room could he/she
possibly need already for me to have an almost steady feeling of "growing"? :)
Wow..they really lowered the poundage. Don't believe a word they say, Melissa, a healthy weight gain has always been 25-35 lbs. Ask any mom. I have never met anybody who only gained 15 lbs. You want a big, healthy, fat, baby. Not a tiny little 5 pounder.
ReplyDeleteThe problem lies with how much I already weigh. :( The norm is still 25-35lbs, but unfortunately, I am overweight. If only I could hate food, life would be so much easier lol I will be watching what I eat, picking up the walks more often, but I will not starve myself just so I don't gain an extra 5 or 10lbs.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Elisa, no way 15 pounds is a healthy weight gain. If you have an average of 8 lb. of baby, a couple pounds of amniotic fluid, extra weight for the increase in uterus muscle and the placenta, not to mention all the extra blood volume for your own body, that is all adding up to more than the 15. No way do I think this is good for you.
ReplyDeleteOf course neither is gaining 85 pounds like some people do, either!
Congratulations on your baby- I'm finally at your blog after you commented on a post of mine at Scary Mommy months ago- The Myth of the Super Mom- You said you were posting it and linking it because more women needed to hear it- I thank you so much for that!
